Chhattisgarh Government Orders Major IAS Reshuffle, 23 Officers Reassigned

Sonmani Bora gets Urban Administration charge; several collectors shifted, senior officers given key departmental responsibilities

TFP Bureau, Raipur, August 19, 2026: The Chhattisgarh government on Tuesday ordered a major reshuffle of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), reassigning 23 officers to various administrative and field positions across the state.

According to an order issued by the General Administration Department, Sonmani Bora, IAS (1999), has been posted as Principal Secretary, Urban Administration and Development Department, replacing R. Sangeeta. Bora will continue to hold the charge of Principal Secretary, Tribal Development, Scheduled Caste Development, Backward Classes and Minority Development departments, along with additional charge of the Science and Technology Department.

R. Sangeeta, IAS (2005), Secretary, Urban Administration and Development Department, has been posted as Secretary in the state Secretariat.

Bhuvnesh Yadav, IAS (2006), Secretary, Planning, Economics and Statistics Department, with additional charge of Commercial Tax (Registration), has been given additional charge of the Tribal Development, Scheduled Caste Development, Backward Classes and Minority Development departments.

Nilesh Kumar Mahadev Kshirsagar, IAS (2011), Collector, Kanker, has been appointed Director, Urban Administration and Development. Bhoskar Vilas Sandipan, IAS (2011), Additional Chief Electoral Officer, Chhattisgarh, has been given additional charge as Managing Director of the Chhattisgarh Civil Supplies Corporation. The order notes that the Election Commission of India has consented to the additional assignment.

Rimijayasu Ekka, IAS (2011), Director, Urban Administration and Development, has been posted as Special Secretary, Public Health Engineering Department, while also being given additional charge as Mission Director, Jal Jeevan Mission. On Ekka assuming the additional charge, M. Qaiser Abdul Haque, IAS (2007), Secretary, Public Health Engineering Department, will be relieved of his additional charge as Mission Director, Jal Jeevan Mission.

Among the district-level changes, Ranbir Sharma, IAS (2012), Director, Social Welfare, has been posted as Collector, Gariyaband, while Kundan Kumar, IAS (2014), Collector, Mungeli, has been transferred as Collector, Kanker. Amrit Vikas Topno, IAS (2014), Collector, Sakti, will take charge as Collector, Mungeli. Jayashree Jain, IAS (2016), Joint Secretary, Forest and Climate Change Department, has been posted as Collector, Sakti.

Bhagwan Singh Uikey, IAS (2016), Collector, Gariyaband, has been posted as Joint Secretary, General Administration Department. Hina Animesh Netam, IAS (2016), Director, Tribal Research and Training Institute, has been given additional charge as Managing Director of the Antyavasayi Cooperative Finance and Development Corporation. Gopal Verma, IAS (2016), Collector, Kabirdham, has been appointed Joint Secretary, Forest and Climate Change Department.

Gajendra Singh Thakur, IAS (2019), Deputy Secretary, Revenue and Disaster Management and Rehabilitation Department, has been given additional charge as Director, Social Welfare. Tanuja Salam, IAS (2019), Director, Sports and Youth Welfare, has been posted as Collector, Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki.

Roma Srivastava, IAS (2020), Deputy Secretary, Secretariat, has been appointed CEO, Surguja Zila Panchayat. Akanksha Shiksha Khalkho, IAS (2020), CEO, Narayanpur Zila Panchayat, has been posted as Deputy Secretary, Commerce and Industry and Public Enterprises Department, while also being given additional charge as Director, Sports and Youth Welfare.

Leena Kosam, IAS (2020), Controller of Examinations, Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission, has been appointed Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Durg. Saumil Ranjan Choubey, IAS (2021), Deputy Secretary, Agriculture Department, has been posted as Managing Director, Tourism Board. The government has also declared the post equivalent in status and responsibility to a cadre post carrying the Senior Scale of the IAS.

Virendra Bahadur Panchbhai, IAS (2021), Additional Collector, Narayanpur, has been transferred as Additional Collector, Bilaspur.

In another significant decision, the services of Vivek Acharya, IAS (2006), Managing Director, Tourism Board, have been repatriated with immediate effect to his parent department, the Forest Department.
