Awards ceremony to be held at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium in Raipur
TFP Bureau, Raipur, August 28, 2026: Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai will confer the Rajya Khel Alankaran (State Sports Awards) on 82 players, coaches and judges on August 29, National Sports Day, which marks the birth anniversary of hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand. He will also present the Chief Minister’s Trophy to 43 players and coaches from five teams.
The ‘Rajya Khel Alankaran Samaroh’, organised by the Department of Sports and Youth Welfare, will be held at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium in Raipur from 4pm on August 29.
A total of 125 players, coaches and judges will be honoured for their achievements during 2023-24, 2024-25 and 2025-26. The awards include the Shaheed Rajiv Pandey Award, Shaheed Kaushal Yadav Award, Veer Hanuman Singh Award, Shaheed Pankaj Vikram Samman, Shaheed Vinod Choubey Samman and Chief Minister’s Trophy.
Deputy Chief Minister and Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Shri Arun Sao will preside over the ceremony. Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs Shri Tokhan Sahu, Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Dr Raman Singh and Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma will attend as distinguished guests.
All members of the state cabinet, MP Shri Brijmohan Agrawal, State Youth Commission Chairman Shri Vishwa Vijay Singh Tomar, Raipur district MLAs, Mayor Smt Meenal Choubey and District Panchayat Chairman Shri Naveen Kumar Agrawal will also attend the event.
