Three-day cultural extravaganza from September 1 to 3 at Mahant Ghasidas Museum to showcase the state’s folk music, traditional instruments and contemporary melodies
Raipur, August 30, 2026: Chhattisgarh’s rich folk traditions, vibrant culture and contemporary music will come together at ‘Rang-Tarang’, a three-day cultural programme being organised by the Department of Culture, Government of Chhattisgarh.
The event will be held from September 1 to 3 at the Open-Air Stage (Muktakashi Manch) in the Mahant Ghasidas Museum complex, Civil Lines, Raipur. Performances will begin at 7 pm each day.
The programme aims to present the state’s diverse cultural heritage through a creative blend of folk music, traditional musical instruments and modern melodies. The initiative is also intended to introduce Chhattisgarh’s rich folk traditions to younger generations while giving contemporary audiences an opportunity to connect with their cultural roots.
Traditional instruments to take centre stage
A key attraction of ‘Rang-Tarang’ will be performances featuring musical instruments deeply rooted in Chhattisgarh’s folk traditions. Artists will combine traditional sounds with contemporary musical styles to create a distinctive cultural experience for audiences.
The fusion of folk and modern melodies is expected to offer a fresh interpretation of the state’s musical heritage while retaining the essence of its traditional art forms.
