Departments asked to expedite appointments, update recruitment rules and prepare roadmap for filling vacancies in 2027
TFP Bureau, Raipur, September 3, 2026: Chhattisgarh Chief Secretary Shri Vikas Sheel on Thursday chaired a high-level meeting with Secretaries of various state government departments to review the status of sanctioned, filled and vacant posts and assess progress in ongoing recruitment processes.
The meeting, held at Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan, focused on expediting recruitment against vacant positions, updating recruitment rules and establishing a clear roadmap for manpower planning in government departments.
The Chief Secretary sought a detailed department-wise assessment of sanctioned strength, appointments made so far and vacancies pending to be filled. He also reviewed the progress of recruitment examinations being conducted by the Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board (Vyapam) and the status of requisitions, or indent letters, sent to the recruitment agency.
Officials were asked to provide details of vacancies for which approval has been received from the Finance Department, the status of posts already advertised and appointments completed against such posts.
Focus on 2027 recruitment planning
The meeting also reviewed the posts likely to be notified by the General Administration Department in 2027. The Chief Secretary sought details of updated recruitment rules in all departments, underlining the need to ensure that the rules remain aligned with current administrative and manpower requirements.
The review was aimed at removing bottlenecks in recruitment, ensuring timely appointments and improving workforce planning across the state administration.
Senior officers were directed to closely monitor recruitment-related matters and take necessary action so that vacancies do not remain pending for prolonged periods.

The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary Panchayat and Rural Development Smt. Richa Sharma; Principal Secretary Home and Jail Smt. Niharika Barik Singh; Principal Secretary Urban Administration Shri Sonmani Borah; Principal Secretary Women and Child Development Smt. Shahla Nigar; General Administration Department Secretary Shri Avinash Champawat; School Education Secretary Dr. Kamalpreet Singh; Secretary to the Chief Minister and Mineral Resources Secretary Shri P. Dayanand; Agriculture Development and Farmers’ Welfare Secretary Shri Siddharth Komal Pardeshi; Health Secretary Shri Amit Kataria; Transport Secretary Shri S. Prakash, along with senior officials from other departments and representatives of the Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board.
The meeting is expected to provide a framework for faster recruitment, timely updating of service rules and systematic planning for filling government vacancies in the coming years.
