Workers’ Convention to be held in Raipur on Vishwakarma Jayanti

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai to attend state-level event; Labour Minister Lakhanlal Dewangan to preside

TFP Bureau, Raipur, September 16, 2026: A state-level Workers’ Convention will be held in Raipur on September 17 to mark Vishwakarma Jayanti and recognise the contribution of workers to the development of Chhattisgarh.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai will attend the convention as the chief guest, while Commerce and Industry and Labour Minister Lakhanlal Dewangan will preside over the programme. The event will begin at noon at the Sardar Balbir Singh Juneja Indoor Stadium in Budhapara.

The convention will bring together workers from different sectors, including construction, industry, agriculture and services. The organisers said the event would highlight the role of workers and skilled labour in building the State’s economic and physical infrastructure.

Vishwakarma Jayanti is traditionally associated with craftsmanship, skill, construction and creation. The convention is intended to underline the dignity of labour and acknowledge the contribution of workers to the State’s development.

Assembly Speaker Raman Singh and Deputy Chief Ministers Arun Sao and Vijay Sharma will attend the programme as distinguished guests. Ministers Kedar Kashyap, Ramvichar Netam, Dayaldas Baghel, Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, O.P. Choudhary and Lakshmi Rajwade, among others, are also scheduled to participate.

Other public representatives expected at the convention include Tankram Verma, Gajendra Yadav, Guru Khushwant Saheb, Rajesh Moonat, Motilal Sahu, Pundar Mishra, Anuj Sharma, Indra Kumar Sahu, Dr Rampratap Singh, Yogesh Dutt Mishra and Kishore Mahanand.

Raipur Mayor Minal Chaubey and Zila Panchayat president Naveen Agarwal will also be present.

The convention is being organised as part of Vishwakarma Jayanti celebrations and will focus on acknowledging the skills and contribution of the State’s workforce to Chhattisgarh’s development.
