Chief Minister performs rituals at residence, extends greetings to workers, artisans, engineers and technical professionals
TFP Bureau, Raipur, September 17, 2026: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Thursday performed a ceremonial worship of Lord Vishwakarma at his official residence in Raipur on the occasion of Vishwakarma Jayanti and prayed for the prosperity and well-being of Chhattisgarh.
Mr Sai extended greetings to the people of the State, particularly workers, artisans, craftsmen, engineers, technicians and those associated with the industrial and construction sectors.
He said Lord Vishwakarma symbolised creativity, craftsmanship, dedication and excellence. Worshipping the deity, he said, conveyed a message of respecting skills and labour and encouraged people to contribute to society through knowledge, hard work and creativity.
“Vishwakarma Jayanti is not merely a festival associated with faith and tradition; it is also an occasion to recognise the dignity of labour, respect skills and acknowledge the power of creation,” the Chief Minister said.
Mr Sai said workers, artisans, craftsmen, technicians and builders played an important role in the development of any State or country. From agriculture and factories to industries, traditional crafts and modern technology, skilled workers contribute to economic and social development through their expertise and labour.
He said Chhattisgarh had a long tradition of craftsmanship, with artisans preserving the State’s cultural heritage through generations. At the same time, engineers, technicians, workers and young people associated with modern technology were contributing to the development of a contemporary Chhattisgarh.
The Chief Minister said the combination of traditional skills and modern technology could provide fresh impetus to the State’s development. Labour, he added, was not merely a means of livelihood but also an important force in creation and nation-building.
Calling for greater respect for the contribution of workers and artisans, Mr Sai said the skills and labour of millions of people formed an important foundation for building a prosperous Chhattisgarh.
He also stressed the need for workers and professionals to continuously upgrade their skills, adapt to technological changes and maintain discipline, dedication and quality in their work.
Mr Sai said a skilled and industrious workforce would be essential to achieving the goal of a modern, self-reliant and developed Chhattisgarh.
Officials and staff of the Chief Minister’s residence, including his adviser R. Krishna Das and Press Officer Alok Singh, were present during the worship ceremony.
The Chief Minister prayed to Lord Vishwakarma for the continued success of workers, artisans, craftsmen, technicians, engineers and entrepreneurs and for the State to progress on the path of prosperity and well-being.
