Agriculture Minister Ramvichar Netam participates in Rabi Campaign 2026 meet; focus on crop diversification, lower farm costs and higher farmer incomes
TFP Bureau, Raipur, September 30,2026: Chhattisgarh Agriculture Minister Ramvichar Netam participated in the National Agriculture Conference–Rabi Campaign 2026 in New Delhi on September 28 and 29, where the state was sanctioned ₹181.99 crore for agricultural development.
The two-day conference brought together Agriculture Ministers, senior officials, agricultural scientists, experts and other stakeholders to discuss priorities and preparations for the upcoming rabi season. The Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare said the conference focused on strengthening Centre-State coordination and preparing an outcome-oriented strategy for the rabi campaign.
₹181.99 crore sanctioned for Chhattisgarh
During the conference, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan handed over the sanction letter for the allocation to Mr. Netam. The amount comprises ₹91.20 crore under the Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (PM-RKVY) and ₹90.79 crore under the Krishi Unnati Yojana, according to the state government’s release.
Mr. Netam said the discussions focused on improving agricultural performance in Chhattisgarh and ensuring effective implementation of agricultural schemes so that their benefits reach a larger number of farmers. He also stressed measures to reduce cultivation costs and improve farm incomes.
Focus on pulses and oilseeds
The minister said the assistance would be used to support agricultural development and expand the area under pulses and oilseeds, besides improving production and returns for farmers.
He also said the allocation would strengthen the state’s ‘Viksit Sankalp Abhiyan’ and support efforts under the proposed ‘Khet Bachao Abhiyan’ to encourage farmers to improve productivity.
The Centre’s conference agenda also included discussions on fertiliser availability, digital agriculture, Farmer Registry, pulses and edible oil missions, marketing reforms and agricultural planning through ATMA and Krishi Vigyan Kendras.
Centre-State coordination emphasised
Mr. Netam said the Chhattisgarh government was working to improve coordination between Central schemes and state agricultural policies to maximise benefits for farmers.
He said greater use of technology, lower input costs and improved productivity would remain important components of the state’s efforts to strengthen the farm sector. The minister expressed gratitude to the Union government for the assistance and said it would provide further support to agricultural development in Chhattisgarh.
