Three-day State Foundation Day celebrations from November 1; departments asked to complete exhibitions, awards and civic arrangements on schedule
TFP Bureau, Raipur, September 30,2026: Chief Secretary Vikas Sheel on Tuesday reviewed preparations for Chhattisgarh Rajyotsav 2026, scheduled to be held from November 1 to 3, at a meeting at Mantralaya (Mahanadi Bhawan).
The meeting covered arrangements for the Rajyotsav and the State Awards Ceremony. Mr. Sheel directed all departments to complete preparations within the stipulated timeframe and prepare detailed action plans for their respective departmental exhibitions. Details of departmental preparations and exhibitions have been sought by October 22.
The Chief Secretary also called for the celebrations to be organised around a central theme focusing on the State’s future direction and development. Themes such as Ease of Doing Business, Human Capital Development, Viksit Bharat and Anjor Chhattisgarh are proposed to be incorporated into the event.
40 state-level awards to be presented
Around 40 state-level awards and honours will be presented by various departments during the Rajyotsav celebrations. Departments have been asked to complete the selection process according to the prescribed schedule.
The Culture Department has been designated as the nodal department for the celebrations. The main state-level event is proposed to be held at the Dr Syama Prasad Mukherjee Industrial and Trade Complex (Mela Ground) at Tuta in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar.
Departments assigned specific responsibilities
CSIDC, NRDA and the Public Works Department will oversee the fairground layout, stall allocation, development exhibitions, main stage, domes, pandals, seating and barricading arrangements.
The Public Relations Department and CHiPS will be responsible for publicity and setting up a high-tech media centre. The Raipur Municipal Corporation and NRDA will make arrangements for civic amenities, city bus services, drinking water and sanitation.
The district administration and police will oversee security, traffic management and parking, besides fire safety arrangements. The Health Department will arrange medical services and ambulances, while the Energy Department will ensure uninterrupted power supply at the venue.
Senior officials review preparations
Senior officials attending the meeting included Additional Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Pingua; Principal Secretaries Niharika Barik Singh and Sonmani Borah; Principal Secretary Shahla Nigar; Secretary to the Chief Minister and Public Works Department Mukesh Kumar; and senior secretaries from the School Education, General Administration, Cooperation, Tourism and Culture, Skill Development, Information Technology, Sports and Youth Welfare, Tribal Development, Labour, Village Industries and Energy departments.
The Commissioner and Collector of Raipur district were also present at the meeting.
