Representatives from 128 Sindhi Panchayats participate in ‘Mukhi Samvad’; Governor urges youth to preserve language, culture and traditions
TFP Bureau, Raipur, July 26, 2026: Chhattisgarh Governor Shri Ramen Deka described the Sindhi community as a shining example of self-respect, self-reliance and entrepreneurship, saying that despite the hardships of Partition and displacement, the community rebuilt its identity through determination and made significant contributions to India’s development.
The Governor was addressing the ‘Mukhi Samvad’ programme, organized by the Pujya Chhattisgarh Sindhi Panchayat in Raipur, where representatives from 128 Sindhi Panchayats across the state gathered on a common platform to discuss social and community issues.
Community Turned Adversity into Strength
Speaking at the event, Governor Deka said the Sindhi community transformed the pain of losing its homeland during Partition into a source of strength. He noted that through hard work, resilience and enterprise, the community established itself in trade, industry, education and social service while preserving its rich cultural heritage and traditions.
He said the journey of the Sindhi community serves as an inspiration for future generations, demonstrating how perseverance and unity can overcome even the most difficult challenges.
Panchayats Strengthen Social Unity
The Governor praised the Sindhi Panchayat system, describing it as the backbone of the community and an effective platform for promoting social harmony, cooperation and progressive thinking.
He appreciated the participation of representatives from 128 Panchayats, calling it a reflection of the community’s strong organizational spirit and collective commitment to social development.
Appeal to Preserve Language and Culture
Governor Deka urged community leaders to work together to preserve the Sindhi language, culture and traditions, emphasizing the importance of connecting children and young people with their cultural roots. He also encouraged greater participation of women in community development through the women’s wing.
Congratulating the Pujya Chhattisgarh Sindhi Panchayat for organizing the event, the Governor expressed hope that such initiatives would continue to strengthen social unity and cultural heritage.
Senior office-bearers of the organization, Panchayat heads and representatives from different parts of the state, members of the women’s wing and a large number of community members attended the programme.
