2,000 saplings planted on 15 acres as villagers pledge to participate in their protection and upkeep
TFP Bureau, Raipur, October 02,2026: The Adani Foundation has launched a tree plantation initiative to develop an ‘Adani Van’ in Mura village near Raipur, with a target of planting 10,000 saplings on around 15 acres of land.
As part of the initiative, 2,000 saplings were planted on Wednesday. The plantation includes fruit-bearing, shade-providing and other species considered beneficial for the local environment. The foundation said the initiative focuses not only on plantation but also on the regular care and protection of the saplings.
A large number of villagers participated in the plantation drive along with elected representatives and officials of Adani Power Limited. Mura Gram Panchayat Sarpanch Kanchan Tokendra Gaikwad, Deputy Sarpanch Santoshi Verma, Sarpanch representative Tokendra Gaikwad, Deputy Sarpanch representative Jagdish Prasad Verma and panchayat members Suman Diwakar and Horilal were among those present.
Debashish Das, Head of Human Resources, Adani Power Limited, said the ‘Adani Van’ initiative was intended as a long-term effort towards environmental conservation, climate balance and community participation. He said saplings would be planted regularly at the site.
Representatives of the Adani Foundation, including Priti Prajapati, Rajiv Ranjan, Manish Nandwana and Sumit Sahu, along with members of the education team, also took part in the drive. They urged villagers to cooperate in ensuring the regular care and protection of the saplings.
During the programme, public representatives and villagers pledged to help protect and nurture the trees. The foundation said the initiative was aimed at increasing green cover in Mura while encouraging greater community participation in environmental conservation.
