HSRP Installation Drive to Be Fast-Tracked Across Chhattisgarh

TFP Bureau, Raipur, April 17, 2025:  The Chhattisgarh Transport Department is set to accelerate the installation of High Security Registration Plates (HSRP) on vehicles across the state. In a high-level meeting held on Thursday, Transport Secretary and Commissioner S. Prakash directed contracted companies to ramp up efforts by organizing dedicated camps, increasing manpower at fitment centers, and providing HSRP installation facilities at district transport offices.

The move comes in compliance with directives from the Supreme Court of India mandating timely implementation of HSRPs in all registered vehicles.

During the meeting, Transport Secretary Prakash reviewed the ongoing progress and discussed challenges faced in the implementation process. He instructed companies to enhance their fitment units and ensure technical readiness to speed up installations in their allotted districts.

To ease the process for vehicle owners, the number of service counters for mobile number updates will be increased at transport offices. The public will also be educated on the HSRP application process and its benefits through print, electronic, and social media campaigns. The department will issue dedicated helpline numbers at the district level for public queries and assistance.

“Public awareness is key,” said Prakash. “People should know that the process is simple and accessible through the official website, cgtransport.gov.in.”

Contracted companies have been directed to make detailed information about their fitment centers, contact persons, and services easily available to the public. Additionally, transport officers will be present at special camps organized in selected areas to supervise and support the process.

Senior officials including Additional Transport Commissioner D. Ravishankar, Joint Commissioner U.B.S. Chauhan, Deputy Commissioner Manoj Kumar Dhruv, and ARTO Yugeshwari Verma attended the meeting. Representatives of the contracted firms, including Mukesh Malhotra of Rosmerta and Vishwajit Mukherjee of Real Mason Company, also participated.
