TFP Bureau, Raipur, April 20, 2025: Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai emphasized the crucial role of the Chhattisgarh Chamber of Commerce and Industries in the development of the state, highlighting its contribution to the rapid growth of trade, business, and industry. Addressing the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected office bearers at Shaheed Smarak Auditorium in Raipur, the Chief Minister expressed confidence that the Chamber’s continued efforts would play a pivotal role in making Chhattisgarh one of the leading states in India.
Chamber President Satish Thaurani, General Secretary Ajay Bhasin, Treasurer Nikesh Bardia, and other officials took their oaths during the event. Chief Minister Sai noted that for the first time in the 62-year history of the Chamber, elections were conducted unanimously, a sign of the organization’s unity.
“The Chamber’s contribution to the welfare of 12 lakh traders and its role in enhancing the state’s economy cannot be overstated. We have taken several steps to aid the growth of industry and trade in the state,” Sai said, mentioning initiatives such as increasing the e-way bill limit and reducing VAT on petrol.
New Industrial Policy Drives Investment Proposals of Rs 4.5 Lakh Crore
The Chief Minister also spoke about the state’s new industrial policy, which has created a favorable environment for industries, attracting investment proposals worth Rs 4.5 lakh crore. He mentioned the recent Bhoomi Pujan for a semiconductor manufacturing plant in Nava Raipur and the successful investor meets held in Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. “Businessmen and industrialists are enthusiastic about Chhattisgarh’s growth, and I urge the Chamber to actively promote the state’s industrial policy to attract more investment,” he added.
State Economy and Agricultural Growth
Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh also addressed the gathering, highlighting the importance of market liquidity and the vital role of farmers in the state’s economy. “Under Chief Minister Sai’s leadership, Chhattisgarh has seen record paddy purchases at Rs 3100 per quintal and two years’ worth of bonuses for farmers. Our state’s budget has grown from Rs 6000 crore to Rs 1.6 lakh crore,” he noted. Dr. Singh also mentioned that Chhattisgarh has witnessed the highest automobile sales in the country, a clear indicator of economic progress.
Collective Efforts for Development
Former MP and Governor Ramesh Bais echoed the sentiments, saying that the combined efforts of the government and industry are essential for the state’s rapid development. “When both the government and industry move in sync, progress accelerates,” he remarked. Raipur MP Brijmohan Agarwal added that the unanimous election of the Chamber’s new leadership is a positive sign for the state’s business community.
The event was attended by a host of dignitaries, including Saint Sai Uday Shadani, Sai Laldas, Amma Mahant Meera Devi, and various public representatives and leaders from the Chamber of Commerce.
