TFP Bureau, Raipur, June 5, 2025: On the occasion of World Environment Day, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai planted an almond sapling at the High School Ground in Sambalpur, Kanker district, marking the state’s active participation in the nationwide “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign. The initiative aims to foster environmental consciousness through an emotional connection by encouraging people to plant trees in the name of their mothers.
Speaking at the event, Chief Minister Sai said, “This campaign is more than just a tree plantation drive — it is a tribute to our mothers, an expression of gratitude towards nature, and a step toward securing a greener future.” He emphasized that planting a tree in the name of one’s mother creates a lasting emotional bond, motivating individuals to nurture it with care and responsibility.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from local leaders and citizens. Among those who joined the plantation drive were Kanker MP Shri Bhojraj Nag, Antagarh MLA Shri Vikramdev Usendi, Kanker MLA Shri Asharam Netam, along with several public representatives and residents.
CM Sai appealed to the people of Chhattisgarh to take part in this meaningful initiative by planting at least one tree in honour of their mother or a revered figure. He noted that “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” is a socially and emotionally integrated campaign, and could become a major milestone in making Chhattisgarh a greener and more environmentally conscious state.
