HNLU Marks World Environment Day with Campus-Wide Plantation Drive

TFP Bureau, Raipur, June 6, 2025:  Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU), Raipur, observed World Environment Day 2025 with a large-scale plantation drive, showcasing its strong commitment to ecological preservation and sustainable development. The event saw enthusiastic participation from faculty and non-teaching staff who together planted more than 280 saplings across the university campus.

The drive was formally inaugurated by Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) V.C. Vivekanandan, who planted a Neem sapling at Heron, one of the university’s Halls of Residence for boys. Joining him were Registrar Dr. Deepak Kumar Srivastava, Controller of Examinations Prof. Yogendra Kumar Srivastava, Dr. Dipak Das, and several faculty and administrative staff members.

The plantation included a variety of indigenous and ecologically suitable species such as Neem, Gulmohar, Kachnar, Amla, and several fruit-bearing trees and flowering shrubs. All saplings were supplied by the Forest Department of the Government of Chhattisgarh.

The initiative reflects HNLU’s ongoing dedication to building a greener campus and contributing meaningfully to environmental awareness. The university plans to continue its green initiatives through more sustainable campus practices and community engagement in ecological causes.
