Raipur Rhinos, Rajnandgaon Panthers Declared Joint Winners of CCPL Season 2

TFP Bureau, Raipur, June 15, 2025: The second season of the Chhattisgarh Cricket Premier League (CCPL) concluded on a celebratory note at the Shaheed Veernarayan Singh International Cricket Stadium in Nava Raipur, with Raipur Rhinos and Rajnandgaon Panthers jointly declared champions after the final match was called off due to rain. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai handed over the Winners Cup to both teams in a vibrant closing ceremony attended by dignitaries and thousands of cricket fans.

Speaking at the event, Chief Minister Sai expressed pride in the successful organization of the CCPL and praised the Chhattisgarh State Cricket Association for creating a platform that nurtures and promotes local cricket talent. “It is a matter of great pride that Chhattisgarh is hosting such a prestigious cricket league. Despite the rain, the enthusiasm of cricket lovers in the stadium shows the growing passion for sports in our state,” he said.

Chief Minister Sai also extended his congratulations to the captains of the winning teams—Amandeep Khare of Raipur Rhinos and Ajay Mandal of Rajnandgaon Panthers—wishing all players continued success in their cricketing careers.

The 10-day tournament, held from June 6 to June 15, featured six teams: Raipur Rhinos, Rajnandgaon Panthers, Raigarh Lions, Bastar Bisons, Bilaspur Bulls, and Surguja Tigers. The league showcased the emerging cricket talent from across the state and received an enthusiastic response from fans.

Also present at the ceremony were Sports Minister Shri Tankaram Verma, Rajya Sabha MP and BCCI Vice President Shri Rajiv Shukla, MLA Guru Khuswant Saheb, and several office-bearers of the Chhattisgarh State Cricket Association.

With CCPL gaining popularity as a premier sporting event in the region, the Chief Minister expressed hope that the tournament would continue to grow in stature in the coming years, further strengthening Chhattisgarh’s sporting ecosystem.
