Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai Leads Enthusiastic Yoga Session on International Yoga Day at Jashpur’s Ranjita Stadium

TFP Bureau, Raipur, June 21, 2025 – Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai today participated in the International Yoga Day celebrations held at Ranjita Stadium in Jashpur, practicing yoga alongside thousands of citizens and extending his best wishes to all. Emphasizing yoga as an ancient tradition rooted in India’s Sanatan culture, Shri Sai highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s pivotal role in elevating yoga to a global stage at the United Nations General Assembly in 2014. Since then, 21 June has been internationally celebrated as Yoga Day in over 175 countries.

The event saw spirited participation from public representatives, students, officers, employees, and local citizens. Experienced yoga instructors guided attendees through various asanas such as Chakrasana, Ardhachakrasana, Kapalbhati, Anulom-Vilom, Pranayama, and Vajrasana.

Chief Minister Sai urged everyone to allocate daily time for yoga, noting its benefits in curing ailments and preventing future diseases. He also advocated the use of generic medicines for their efficacy and affordability. Praising the enthusiastic involvement of schoolchildren, he said yoga helps calm the mind and improves concentration.

In a significant development, the Chief Minister performed the Bhoomi Pujan for the Nalanda campus project, to be built on two acres at a cost of Rs 11.29 crore. This facility will accommodate 500 students simultaneously and include an attractive garden, aiming to provide educational opportunities especially for rural and economically weaker sections. Shri Sai announced plans to establish similar Nalanda campuses in all district headquarters and major cities to boost rural education and competitive exam success.

Alongside, Shri Sai inaugurated and laid the foundation for 64 development works worth Rs 107.81 crore across Jashpur and Farasabahar development blocks, covering roads, infrastructure, and community facilities.

Urging citizens to support environmental conservation, the Chief Minister encouraged tree plantation under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign, marking the onset of the rainy season as the ideal time for afforestation.

Social Welfare Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade highlighted the theme of this year’s Yoga Day, “One Earth, One Health,” underscoring the deep connection between human wellbeing and the planet. Yoga Commission Chairman Shri Roop Narayan Sinha praised Jashpur’s natural landscape as an ideal setting for yoga, calling it a lifelong practice rather than a mere course.

Collector Shri Rohit Vyas extended gratitude to all participants and dignitaries. The Social Welfare Department’s Director Smt. Roktima Yadav delivered the welcome address.

Prominent attendees included former MP Mr. Ranavijay Singh Judeo, Padmashree awardee Mr. Jageshwar Ram Yadav, Jashpur MLA Mrs. Raimuni Bhagat, and many other officials and community leaders, along with students and yoga practitioners.

The event successfully combined celebration, awareness, and development initiatives, reflecting the state’s commitment to health, education, and sustainable progress.
