TFP Bureau, Raipur, June 30, 2025: The Government of Chhattisgarh has officially initiated preparations for the upcoming nationwide Census 2027, following a notification from the Central Government issued on June 16, 2025, under Section 3 of the Census Act, 1948.
According to the directive issued by the General Administration Department (Order No. GENCOR-35/2536/2025-GAD-5), the notification No. S.O. 2681(E) by the Central Government has announced that the next decennial census will be conducted across India in the year 2027. This notification was published in the Gazette of India on June 16, 2025.
In light of this, the Chhattisgarh Government has designated Shri Manoj Kumar Pingua, Additional Chief Secretary, Home and Jail Department, as the Nodal Officer to oversee and coordinate all census-related activities in the state.
The official order was issued under the authority of the Governor of Chhattisgarh and signed by Anshika Pandey, Deputy Secretary, General Administration Department.
