Chhattisgarh Honored by Ministry of Mines for Outstanding Work on District Mineral Foundation

TFP Bureau, Raipur, July 9, 2025: Chhattisgarh has received prestigious national recognition from the Ministry of Mines, Government of India, for its exemplary efforts under the District Mineral Foundation Trust (DMF). The honor was conferred during the “National DMF Workshop” held today at the Scope Convention Center in New Delhi, where Union Coal and Mines Minister Shri G Kishan Reddy presented a citation to Shri P. Dayanand, Secretary to the Chief Minister and Mineral Secretary, acknowledging the state’s remarkable achievements.

Chhattisgarh was commended for uploading 90 percent of its DMF audit data on both the State DMF Portal and the National DMF Portal, managed by the Ministry under the Pradhan Mantri Khanij Kshetra Kalyan Yojana. The state’s transparent data management and effective ground-level implementation were showcased as a model for other states to follow.

The workshop aimed to enhance the impact of the Pradhan Mantri Khanij Kshetra Kalyan Yojana and DMF schemes, fostering sustainable and inclusive development in mining-affected regions. Officials including secretaries, directors, and collectors from various mining-impacted districts across the country participated in the event.

Chhattisgarh’s DMF initiatives have led to significant progress in sectors such as education, health, drinking water, infrastructure, and livelihood support. To date, over 1,01,313 development projects worth Rs 16,506 crore have been approved, with 70,318 successfully completed.

The state government’s approach emphasizes transparency, public welfare, and localized planning and monitoring, ensuring that development aligns with the specific needs of each district. This strategy focuses not only on physical infrastructure but also on empowering communities socially and economically.

Along with Shri P. Dayanand, the workshop was attended by Mineral Resources Director Mr. Rajat Bansal, collectors from Balod, Balodabazar-Bhatapara, Korba, Raigarh, and Dantewada districts, and the DMF Nodal Officer, representing Chhattisgarh’s commitment to inclusive development in mining areas.
