TFP Bureau, Raipur, June 28,2026: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Sunday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Mann Ki Baat has evolved into a powerful platform that connects the country’s leadership with its citizens while inspiring public participation and strengthening the collective resolve to build a Viksit Bharat (Developed India).

The Chief Minister made the remarks after listening to the 135th episode of the Prime Minister’s monthly radio programme at the Chief Minister’s residence along with public representatives and citizens.

Sai said every edition of Mann Ki Baat showcases inspiring stories, innovations and community-led initiatives from across the country, motivating citizens to actively participate in nation-building. He added that the repeated mention of Chhattisgarh’s achievements in previous episodes is a matter of pride for the state.

In his address, Prime Minister Modi highlighted India’s growing self-reliance in defence manufacturing, noting the induction of indigenously built naval vessels INS Dunagiri, INS Sanshodhak and INS Agray into the Indian Navy. He also spoke about the successful maiden flight of the Made-in-India C-295 transport aircraft and the successful test of the indigenous long-range land-attack cruise missile, describing them as milestones in strengthening the country’s defence capabilities and the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.

The Prime Minister also lauded the overwhelming participation in International Yoga Day celebrations held across more than 2,500 locations worldwide and congratulated Indian athletes for securing 114 medals, including 102 gold medals, at the World Yogasana Championship held in Ahmedabad.

Emphasising the power of public participation, Modi thanked citizens for responding positively to his recent appeals aimed at conserving resources during the prevailing geopolitical situation. He said many families had postponed gold purchases, reduced foreign travel, adopted carpooling, increased the use of public transport and embraced natural farming practices, demonstrating collective responsibility during challenging times.

Highlighting social security, the Prime Minister urged people to enrol in the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana and the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, noting that the affordable insurance schemes have provided financial protection to millions of families across the country.

The programme also focused on environmental conservation and social awareness. Modi cited Meghalaya’s iconic Living Root Bridges as a remarkable example of harmony between humans and nature and appealed for their preservation. He praised the women-led “Hargila Army” of Assam for successfully conserving the endangered Greater Adjutant bird while overcoming social superstitions through scientific awareness and community mobilisation.

Promoting sports and youth development, the Prime Minister highlighted the Nagaland Baby League and Nagaland Women’s Futsal League for nurturing young sporting talent. He also commended Nalanda University for reviving India’s ancient tradition of Shaastraarth (intellectual discourse) and welcomed the Central Sanskrit University’s initiative to launch a B.Tech programme in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science to integrate modern technology with India’s traditional knowledge systems.

Modi further appreciated the efforts of “Brahmakamal Dominicana” in the Dominican Republic, whose members are learning Vedic literature and Sanskrit chants, calling it a reflection of the growing global interest in Indian culture. He also praised women in Madhya Pradesh’s Rajgarh district for converting plastic waste into eco-bricks to beautify public spaces, describing the initiative as an inspiring example of innovation and cleanliness.

Ahead of Ganesh Chaturthi, the Prime Minister appealed to citizens to install eco-friendly clay idols made by local artisans instead of Plaster of Paris idols. He said the initiative would help protect water bodies while strengthening the “Vocal for Local” campaign.

Echoing the Prime Minister’s message, Chief Minister Sai urged people to actively support environmental conservation by promoting clay idols, conserving rainwater and spreading awareness about government social security schemes. He said the programme continues to inspire positive societal change by showcasing ordinary citizens making extraordinary contributions to nation-building.

The event was attended by senior RSS Pracharak Indresh Kumar, Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, MLA Gomti Sai, Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board Chairman Dr. Rampratap Singh, CGMSC Chairman Deepak Mhaske, Chhattisgarh State Civil Supplies Corporation Chairman Sanjay Srivastava, Sachchidanand Upasane, Akhilesh Soni and several other public representatives and prominent citizens.
