TFP Bureau, Raipur, September 3, 2025: Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Shri Ramdas Athawale arrived in Raipur on Tuesday for an official visit to Chhattisgarh. During his stay, he convened a review meeting with senior state government officials at the State Guest House, Puna, to assess the progress of various schemes being implemented under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
In the detailed review, the Union Minister placed special emphasis on welfare initiatives for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, and Divyangjan (persons with disabilities). He instructed officials to ensure that benefits under these schemes are delivered in a timely, transparent, and accountable manner, stressing that no eligible beneficiary should be left out.
Highlighting the Central Government’s commitment, Shri Athawale said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, focused efforts are being made to advance social justice and equal opportunities. He noted that initiatives such as Divyangjan empowerment programmes, scholarship schemes, skill development projects, and self-employment assistance schemes are playing a vital role in integrating weaker sections of society into the mainstream.
The Union Minister further called for greater inter-departmental coordination, saying that stronger collaboration between Centre and states is key to addressing challenges and improving socio-economic conditions of the marginalized. He urged officials to take “concrete, people-centric steps” to ensure measurable outcomes on the ground.
Senior officials including Joint Secretary of Panchayat and Rural Development Department Mr. Taran Prakash Sinha, Commissioner of Tribal and Scheduled Caste Welfare Department Dr. Saransh Mittal, and Director of Social Welfare Mrs. Roktima Yadav participated in the review meeting along with other senior departmental representatives.
Speaking to the media after the review, Shri Athawale reiterated that the top priority of the Central Government is to reach the last person standing in the line of society. He said continuous efforts are underway to enhance the effectiveness of welfare schemes across the country, including Chhattisgarh, and assured that better coordination between Centre and states will strengthen delivery mechanisms and ensure that social justice reaches every household.
