Registration Process Simplified in Chhattisgarh: Loan Book Requirement Abolished

TFP Bureau, Raipur, October 17, 2025: In a major step towards simplifying public services and promoting transparency, the Chhattisgarh government has eliminated the requirement to submit a loan book (Kisan Kitab) for the registration of agricultural land. The reform, initiated by Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai and directed by Finance and Registration Minister O.P. Choudhary, is being hailed as a significant Diwali gift for the people of the state.

Officials said the decision will bring substantial relief to farmers and ordinary citizens by making the registration process simpler, faster, and entirely corruption-free. The move also strengthens administrative efficiency and public trust, aligning with the government’s vision of “Simple Governance, Good Governance.”

According to the new system, citizens registering agricultural land will no longer need to produce a loan book. The state has upgraded its auto-mutation system and ensured that all relevant records from the Revenue Department are fully integrated with the registration software. This digital coordination enables instant verification and eliminates the need for manual intervention at any stage.

“The state government aims to provide simple, transparent, and quick services to every citizen. Eliminating the requirement of a loan book for agricultural land registration is a historic step in that direction,” said Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai. “This will bring immense relief to farmers and common citizens, making the process fully digital, accountable, and free from corruption. Governance is not just an administrative system but a close family that shares in the lives and celebrations of its people. This Diwali decision reflects that spirit.”

Finance and Registration Minister O.P. Choudhary said the initiative marks a major administrative reform. “Under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, the government’s priority is to make administrative processes simpler, quicker, and more transparent. The integration of online records and digital verification will not only save time and money but also eliminate opportunities for corruption,” he said.

With this reform, citizens will no longer have to visit multiple offices for document verification. The fully online system will reduce procedural delays, prevent misuse, and ensure faster transactions. Officials emphasized that the decision underscores the government’s commitment to citizen-centric reforms and efficient digital governance.

The initiative is being viewed as a major milestone in Chhattisgarh’s ongoing efforts to modernize its registration system, setting a benchmark for transparency and public convenience — and symbolizing the government’s pledge to make Diwali brighter for every household through responsive governance.
