Seven IPS Officers Transferred in Chhattisgarh: Major Reshuffle in Police Administration

TFP Bureau, Raipur, October 24, 2025: The Chhattisgarh Government has announced a significant reshuffle in the police department, transferring seven Indian Police Service (IPS) officers across various key positions. The Home (Police) Department issued the transfer order on Friday from Mahanadi Bhawan, Nava Raipur, with immediate effect.

According to the order signed by Home Secretary Shri Dhiraj Gupta, the transfers aim to enhance coordination between the police headquarters and field units, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen district-level leadership.

As per the notification, Shri Mohit Garg (IPS, 2013 batch), who was serving as Superintendent of Police (SP), Rajnandgaon, has been appointed as Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Police Headquarters, Chhattisgarh, Nava Raipur. His new role is expected to play a vital part in overseeing policy and coordination functions at the state level.

Shri Chandramohan Singh (IPS, 2014 batch), currently SP, Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur district, has been assigned as Director, Training/Operations, Disaster Management and Civil Defence, Police Headquarters, Raipur. He will also manage city service and civic security operations.

Shubhi Abhika Sharma (IPS, 2018 batch), SP Sukma, has been posted as SP, Rajnandgaon, replacing Mohit Garg. Known for her field experience in conflict-affected regions, her appointment in Rajnandgaon reflects the government’s confidence in her operational capabilities.

Yadvendra Ahlawat (IPS, 2018 batch), SP Kanker, has been shifted as Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Police Headquarters, Nava Raipur, while Ratna Singh (IPS, 2019 batch), earlier serving as Assistant Inspector General (AIG) at Police Headquarters, Nava Raipur, will now take charge as SP, Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur.

Further, Phool Thakur (IPS, 2015 batch), who was serving as Commandant of the 4th Battalion, Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF), Mana, Raipur, has been appointed as SP, Sukma, while Pankaj Chandra (IPS, 2015 batch), Commandant of the 13th Battalion, CAF, Bagmara, Kawardha, will assume the post of SP, Kanker.

The reshuffle is seen as part of the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen law and order across the state and ensure effective leadership in sensitive and operationally demanding districts. Officers with experience in counter-insurgency operations and administrative management have been strategically repositioned to bolster field performance and ensure greater coordination between the state police headquarters and district units.
