TFP Bureau, Raipur, November 29, 2025: Amid the alarming rise in cyber fraud and financial scams across the country, the Balodabazar-Bhatapara district has taken a proactive step by establishing a dedicated District Economic Lab (Finance Lab) to strengthen cyber awareness and financial literacy among citizens. Operational since November 2 at Pandit Chakrapani Shukla Government Higher Secondary School, the Finance Lab is rapidly becoming a vital resource for safe digital banking and secure financial practices.
Designed to educate citizens about the risks of cybercrime and equip them with practical financial skills, the Finance Lab offers structured training on secure transaction methods, prevention of digital fraud, and the use of modern financial systems. Within just one month, the initiative has drawn an impressive response, with 730 youth already participating in its training modules.
Officials said the initiative aligns with the guidance of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and the district administration’s commitment to empowering citizens through financial awareness. The strong turnout reflects growing community interest in understanding financial systems and adopting safe digital habits.
The primary objective of the Finance Lab is to provide hands-on financial education, bridging the gap between textbook knowledge and real-world financial decision-making. Through games, interactive activities, and innovation-based learning methods, the lab helps students, youth, and general citizens grasp complex financial concepts with ease.
The Finance Lab features dedicated zones such as the Lakshya Kaksha (Goal Room), Aspiration Kaksha (Aspiration Room), and Udaan Kaksha (Flight Room), where students receive guidance on entrepreneurship, startups, budgeting, saving, insurance, and investment. Participants are also introduced to practical exercises, including understanding auction processes and identifying fraudulent financial activities.
Officials noted that the initiative is especially beneficial for rural youth, who often lack access to structured financial education. By providing a safe environment to simulate real-life financial scenarios, the lab aims to foster responsible, informed financial behavior.
The Finance Lab also focuses on educating citizens about cyber threats, including phishing, ATM-related fraud, and deceptive investment schemes. Participants receive guidance on digitally secure practices, sound investment methods, and the use of secure financial services. The district administration believes this model will significantly strengthen both rural and urban communities and could be replicated nationally.
The Finance Lab initiative represents a forward-looking effort to equip the next generation with essential financial skills while ensuring they remain protected from the growing dangers of cyber fraud.
