TFP Bureau, Raipur, November 29, 2025: The annual Conference of Directors General and Inspectors General of Police commenced in Raipur today, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi chairing the first day of discussions. The high-level security conclave brought together the country’s top police leadership to chart future strategies for a safer and more resilient India.
Held under the theme “Viksit Bharat: Security Dimensions,” the conference focused extensively on strengthening the nation’s security architecture in alignment with India’s development goals. The presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, senior officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs, intelligence agencies, and state police chiefs underscored the significance of the event.
The opening day involved in-depth deliberations on a wide spectrum of security priorities. Key sessions examined the evolving landscape of Left-Wing Extremism, counter-terrorism operations, cyber and digital threats, border management, intelligence coordination, and the rising challenges posed by AI-enabled technologies. Participants shared best practices, innovative policing methods, and state-level success models aimed at improving efficiency and preparedness across the law-enforcement ecosystem.
Prime Minister Modi, while reviewing the presentations, emphasised the importance of proactive and technology-driven policing for the creation of a “Surakshit Bharat.” He highlighted that robust internal security is foundational to achieving the nation’s goal of becoming a fully developed country by March 2026. The Prime Minister also encouraged senior police officials to adopt people-centric approaches, strengthen inter-agency cooperation, and leverage advanced analytics for predictive policing.
In a post shared on X, the Prime Minister noted:
“The first day of the DGP/IGP Conference in Raipur witnessed extensive deliberations on different aspects of India’s security system. This is a great forum to share best practices and innovations in this field.”
Officials said the conference will continue over the next two days, with focused discussions on strategic reforms, capacity-building, and modernization of policing systems. The outcomes of the meet are expected to significantly shape India’s internal security roadmap in the coming years.
