Company Promotes a Culture of Safety Through Engaging Activities and Health Camps
TFP Bureau, Korba, March 25, 2025: Bharat Aluminium Company Limited (BALCO), a prominent name in India’s aluminium industry and a unit of Vedanta Aluminium, celebrated the 54th National Safety Week with a series of initiatives aimed at instilling a strong safety culture among employees, business partners, and the community. The week-long observance, centered around this year’s theme, “Safety and Well-being: Crucial for Viksit Bharat,” included a range of activities such as safety rallies, awareness sessions, a marathon, and engaging skits to reinforce the importance of safety at all levels.
As part of its holistic approach to well-being, BALCO also organized a health and eye check-up camp for drivers and machine operators to ensure their physical health and safety on the job. Additionally, the company hosted an exclusive interactive session with Mrs. Disha Shukla, Factory Inspector (Korba), who shared life-saving fire safety techniques, risk awareness, and emergency preparedness with BALCO’s Ladies Club.
A key feature of the celebrations was the identification of the ‘Best Safety Zone’ within the plant, as part of a rigorous auditing process aimed at promoting best safety practices among departments. To further boost awareness, a safety quiz for employees was organized, along with slogan and drawing competitions involving local schools, which encouraged wider community participation.
