Adi Parab concludes with enthusiasm; CM highlights peace and tribal development in Bastar

Festival showcases culture of 43 tribes; tribal painting and attire recognised by Golden Book of World Records

TFP Bureau, Raipur, March 15,2026: The two-day ‘Adi Parab’ tribal cultural festival concluded with enthusiasm at the campus of the Tribal Research and Training Institute in Nava Raipur, with Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai stating that the government is committed to ensuring peace, development and prosperity in the Bastar region.

Addressing the closing ceremony on Saturday, the Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the government is working with determination to secure the future of tribal communities. He noted that areas once affected by Naxalism are now witnessing rapid development and expressed confidence that the state is steadily moving towards becoming free from Naxal influence.

The festival, themed “From Tradition to Identity,” showcased the rich culture, art and traditions of tribal communities. Tribal artists from Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Odisha, Maharashtra and Jharkhand participated in the event. Representatives of 43 tribal communities came together on one platform, highlighting the cultural diversity of the state.

The Chief Minister congratulated the organisers after the ‘Adi Parab’ painting and traditional attire display received recognition from the Golden Book of World Records. During the event, he also enjoyed an attire show featuring traditional costumes of tribal youth.

On the occasion, Sai inaugurated a 100-seater hostel built at a cost of ₹5 crore at the TRTI campus to support higher education and research for tribal students. He also referred to the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Memorial and Tribal Freedom Fighters Museum, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in November 2025, describing it as a proud symbol of tribal heritage.

The Chief Minister said several schemes are being implemented to improve the socio-economic conditions of tribal communities. Under the Dharti Aaba Tribal Village Utkarsh Abhiyan, development works are underway in 6,691 tribal habitations across the state. The PM-JANMAN Yojana is also providing housing, roads and basic facilities to particularly vulnerable tribal groups.

Tribal Development Minister Ramvichar Netam said the state government is strengthening tribal education through ashram hostels, Prayas schools and Eklavya Model Residential Schools. He added that more than 4.25 lakh beneficiaries have received forest rights titles under the Forest Rights Act.

Forest and Climate Change Minister Kedar Kashyap said the Bastar region, once affected by conflict, is now moving towards peace and development with the efforts of the government.

During the programme, the Chief Minister honoured tribal youths Ankit Sakini and Diamond Dhruv for their success in the Union Public Service Commission Examination. Students from Prayas Residential Schools who secured admission to institutions such as Indian Institutes of Technology and National Institutes of Technology were also felicitated.

Several public representatives and officials, including MLAs Prabodh Minj and Indrakumar Sahu, attended the programme along with members of the tribal community.
