Chhattisgarh Gets Share in ₹10,021-Crore PMAY-G ‘Mother Sanction’ for Rural Housing

CM Vishnu Deo Sai Says Centre’s Approval Will Accelerate Dream of Permanent Homes for Poor Families

TFP Bureau, Raipur, May 28,2026: Chhattisgarh has received a major boost under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) after the Centre issued a ‘Mother Sanction’ of more than ₹10,021 crore to 12 states, including Chhattisgarh, for rural housing projects.

Welcoming the decision, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai described it as a major step towards strengthening the welfare of poor and marginalized families and advancing the vision of Antyodaya — upliftment of the last person in society.

The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the commitment of providing “a permanent home for every poor person” is steadily turning into reality across rural India. He stated that the latest sanction would provide fresh momentum to housing projects in Chhattisgarh and bring positive change in the lives of thousands of rural families.

According to Mr. Sai, the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin is not merely a housing scheme but a transformative initiative aimed at ensuring dignity, security, and self-confidence for economically weaker families.

“A permanent home is not just a roof over one’s head, but the foundation of a secure future, better living standards, and social dignity,” the Chief Minister said.

He added that the financial support would help speed up the construction of houses for eligible beneficiaries in rural areas and ensure timely delivery of benefits under the scheme.

Vishnu Deo Sai further said the state government, under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is committed to ensuring that no eligible family in the state is deprived of basic facilities like housing.

Highlighting the “double-engine government” model, he said both the Centre and the state are working in coordination to ensure transparent and effective implementation of welfare schemes for the poor and marginalized sections.

The Chief Minister also expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for including Chhattisgarh in the major funding initiative.

Officials said the fresh allocation is expected to significantly strengthen rural housing construction activities in the state and help thousands of families realize their dream of owning a permanent home.
