Chhattisgarh Schools to Reopen on June 16; Authorities Debunk July 1 Rumours

The Directorate of Public Instruction has clarified that the 2026-27 academic session in all government and private schools across Chhattisgarh will commence on June 16, urging students and parents to ignore misleading social media posts claiming a July 1 reopening.

TFP Bureau, Raipur, June 13,2026: The Chhattisgarh School Education Department has categorically dismissed rumours circulating on social media regarding the commencement of the new academic session, clarifying that schools across the state will reopen as scheduled on June 16, 2026.

According to a letter issued on June 12 by the Director of the Directorate of Public Instruction (DPI), the academic session 2026-27 will formally begin on Tuesday, June 16, in all government and non-government schools in the state.

The clarification comes amid widespread circulation of messages on various social media platforms claiming that the new academic session would begin on July 1, 2026. The department has termed such information completely false, misleading, and fake.

Officials stated that the authorised and officially approved date for the commencement of school operations remains June 16 and that no order has been issued changing the schedule.

The Directorate of Public Instruction has appealed to students, parents, teachers, and the general public to rely only on official communications issued by the School Education Department. Citizens have been advised not to believe or share unverified information circulating on social media platforms.

The department further emphasized that spreading or forwarding misleading information can create unnecessary confusion among students and parents ahead of the new academic session. Authorities urged the public to verify all education-related announcements through official government channels before acting upon them.
