Jashpur to Join Guinness World Record Attempt Through Mass Online Yoga Session

Ministry of AYUSH promotes “Yoga for Healthy Ageing” theme; citizens urged to register and take part in the historic initiative.

TFP Bureau, Raipur, June 13,2026: Jashpur district is gearing up to participate in a nationwide attempt to set a Guinness World Record through a mass online yoga session on June 14, as preparations intensify for the observance of International Yoga Day 2026. The initiative is being organized under the guidance of the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, which has adopted “Yoga for Healthy Ageing” as this year’s theme.

According to the AYUSH Department, the online yoga session will be conducted from 6:15 a.m. to 7:35 a.m. on June 14, with the aim of achieving the highest number of participants in a coordinated virtual event. Authorities are carrying out extensive awareness and registration drives to encourage people from all walks of life to join the record-setting effort.

Interested participants can register for the event by giving a missed call to the toll-free number 1800-315-7008, enabling them to become part of the historic campaign.

Meanwhile, the district-level celebration of International Yoga Day will take place on June 21 at Ranjita Stadium in Jashpur, where public representatives, government officials, employees, students, social organisations, and members of the general public are expected to participate in large numbers.

To streamline registrations and documentation, the Ministry of AYUSH has introduced the Yoga Sangam Portal-2026, allowing government departments, educational institutions, local bodies, and social organisations to register their yoga programmes and upload event details and photographs after completion.

The AYUSH Department has appealed to citizens and institutions across the district to actively participate in the upcoming programmes, contributing not only to the promotion of healthy living but also to the national effort to create a Guinness World Record and expand the reach of yoga across the country.
