In addition, the final two and a half hours of proceedings on Friday, July 17, have been earmarked for non-government business, allowing private members to introduce and discuss their initiatives.
The announcement signals the start of preparations for one of the state’s most significant legislative exercises of the year. Political parties are expected to finalize their strategies ahead of the session, which is likely to witness debates on governance, development programmes, financial issues and other matters concerning the state administration.
The Assembly Secretariat has initiated arrangements for the smooth conduct of the session, which is expected to provide elected representatives with a platform to raise constituency-specific concerns while enabling the government to present and transact important official business.
