TFP Bureau, Raipur, August 24, 2026: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai will release the 31st installment of the Mahtari Vandan Yojana on August 25, transferring ₹631.38 crore directly into the bank accounts of 67,28,918 women beneficiaries.
The installment will be released during a special ceremony honouring ‘Bihan Didis’ and members of Self-Help Groups at Lal Raghuvir Singh Stadium in Daundilohara, the headquarters of the development block in Balod district.
The release comes ahead of Raksha Bandhan, with the Chief Minister deciding to advance the payment of the 31st installment, which was originally scheduled for September 2026, as a special gift to women beneficiaries.
The Mahtari Vandan Yojana provides monthly financial assistance to women and is aimed at strengthening their social and economic empowerment. The assistance is also being used by beneficiaries for healthcare, nutrition and other household needs, besides supporting income-generating activities.
According to the government, several women are also investing the financial assistance in the Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana to secure the future of their daughters.
With the latest installment, the state government will have provided financial assistance totalling ₹19,444 crore to women through 31 installments of the scheme. The government said the programme has emerged as an important initiative for improving the economic security and financial independence of women across Chhattisgarh.
