Negligence in Public Welfare Will Not Be Tolerated: CM Vishnu Dev Sai

TFP Bureau, Raipur, May 8, 2025: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, during a high-level review meeting in Surajpur on Wednesday, issued a stern warning to officials, stating that negligence in public welfare schemes would not be tolerated under any circumstances. The joint meeting covered Surajpur, Korea, and Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur districts, with a detailed review of the progress and implementation of key government schemes.

Presiding over the meeting at the District Panchayat Auditorium in Surajpur, the Chief Minister emphasized urgent repairs of hand pumps based on complaints received during the recent Sushasan Tihar campaign. He instructed officials to ensure all faulty hand pumps are repaired within ten days by expanding rising pipes where necessary to ensure uninterrupted drinking water supply to rural households.

Strict Instructions on PM Awas Yojana Implementation

The Chief Minister placed special focus on the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, calling it a high-priority scheme. He warned that any negligence in its execution would be dealt with strictly. “If a beneficiary has valid approval for constructing a house, the vehicle transporting sand should not be stopped by the Mineral Department,” he said. Officials were told to take swift action against any reported irregularities, including delays caused by Awas Mitras.

Shri Sai also highlighted the need to prepare for a potential rise in the number of housing beneficiaries, stressing the importance of training local masons under the National Rural Livelihood Mission to meet the growing construction demands while generating employment.

Faster Disposal of Revenue and Welfare Cases

The Chief Minister urged officers to expedite resolution of revenue-related matters including undisputed land transfers, partitions, demarcations, and distribution of property maps. He also directed that ownership records under the Abadi land scheme be issued promptly to rightful claimants.

Reaffirming the state government’s commitment to the rural poor, farmers, and underprivileged sections, Shri Sai said, “Our topmost priority is to ensure the benefits of government schemes reach the last mile. Bringing positive change in the lives of villagers is our responsibility.”

Senior Leadership in Attendance

The meeting was attended by Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade, District Panchayat President Smt. Indumani Paikra, MLA Shri Bhaiyyalal Rajwade, Chief Secretary Shri Amitabh Jain, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Subodh Singh, and other top administrative and police officials from the three districts.

The Chief Minister concluded by instructing all departments to work in mission mode to ensure the timely and effective delivery of welfare schemes, underlining that accountability and proactive governance would remain the guiding principles of his administration.
