TFP Bureau, Raipur, 20 June 2025 – The Transport Department of Chhattisgarh has announced strict enforcement against vehicles operating without High Security Registration Plates (HSRP). A review meeting chaired by Secretary cum Transport Commissioner Shri S. Prakash at Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan today emphasized immediate challan action by police and enforcement staff on vehicles lacking HSRP.
Expressing concern over the recent decline in HSRP orders, Shri Prakash directed all transport officers to coordinate closely with police departments and conduct joint enforcement campaigns. Detailed discussions were held with officials from districts including Dhamtari, Jashpur, Durg, Ambikapur, Baikunthpur, Raipur, and Bilaspur, with clear instructions to prepare plans aimed at doubling the number of HSRP installations in the near future.
To accelerate the process, transport officers were urged to collaborate with HSRP vendors and organize continuous fitment camps in tehsil headquarters, rural towns, and high-traffic areas such as industrial zones and educational institutions. Special emphasis was placed on organizing a camp at Bhilai Steel Plant’s staff parking area in Durg district.
Further awareness measures include displaying banners and posters at petrol pumps and other crowded places to educate the public on the importance of HSRP installation and the applicable rules and regulations.
The meeting also called for contracted companies to set up permanent fitment centers operated by the company at district and tehsil headquarters while increasing manpower to meet demand. Transport officers were instructed to carry out regular physical inspections of these centers to ensure compliance and quality.
A follow-up review meeting has been scheduled for next week to assess progress and reinforce action plans.
