TFP Bureau, Raipur, June 25, 2025: Speaking at the 25th meeting of the Central Regional Council in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai highlighted the council’s pivotal role as a platform for enhanced cooperation and coordination between the Central government and states. He noted that this collaboration has provided fresh impetus to the development of various regions in Central India, including Chhattisgarh.
Chief Minister Sai emphasized that the council’s efforts significantly contribute to realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India. He credited the council with driving progress in Chhattisgarh’s economy, internal security, cultural tourism, and infrastructure.
Decisive Gains Against Naxalism and New Development in Bastar
On the Naxal challenge, Shri Sai praised the strong leadership of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and improved inter-state coordination that have led to major successes in Chhattisgarh. He described the elimination of key Naxal leaders like Basavaraju and Sudhakar as a decisive blow to the movement. For Bastar’s development, he pointed to major ongoing projects such as the Bodhghat-Mahanadi Indravati Link and the recently approved Raoghat-Jagdalpur railway line as milestones in regional progress.
Concrete Steps Towards Development and Good Governance
The Chief Minister reported rapid implementation of suggestions from the council’s previous meeting, citing accomplishments including the opening of 28 new bank branches in Naxal-affected areas, expansion of the Dial-112 emergency service, and the successful reduction of child malnutrition affecting over 82,000 children.
Cultural and sports initiatives like Bastar Pandum and Bastar Olympics have fostered local talent, while under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, 87.2% of citizens have received health cards, and 1033 of 1075 government hospitals are linked to the program.
Chhattisgarh Set to Lead in Energy, Investment, and Industrial Growth
Shri Sai revealed that since the new industrial policy took effect, the state has attracted investment proposals totaling Rs 5.5 lakh crore, with Rs 3.5 lakh crore coming from the power sector. Chhattisgarh currently ranks second nationally in power generation and aims to become number one by 2030. Rural and urban areas enjoy an average electricity supply of over 23 hours daily, reflecting efficient energy management. Additionally, the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana is progressing, with 600,000 households being connected to solar energy.
Empowered Panchayats, Enhanced Services, and New White Revolution
The Chief Minister highlighted that over 150,000 solar-powered agricultural pumps provide vital irrigation support to farmers. A new MoU with the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) is set to expand milk production in the state. Atal Digital Suvidha Kendras serve as digital governance hubs in panchayats, and the Public Service Guarantee Act, 2011, ensures transparent and timely service delivery.
Chhattisgarh as a Model of Development and Governance
Concluding his remarks, Shri Sai affirmed the state government’s dedicated participation in Prime Minister Modi’s mission to build a developed India. He expressed confidence that the Central Regional Council’s dialogue and coordination platform will help propel Chhattisgarh even further along the path of progress.
