TFP Bureau, Raipur, September 4, 2025 – In the wake of last week’s heavy rainfall and floods that disrupted life across Bastar division, relief and rehabilitation work is now moving at a rapid pace under the directions of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai. Soon after returning from his foreign tour, the Chief Minister visited Dantewada and instructed district collectors to intensify relief operations. Acting promptly on these directions, the administration has not only provided food, medical aid, and shelter but has also begun restoring essential documents lost in the floods.
Relief camps across the affected villages have been equipped with ration, medicines, and even gas stoves with cylinders to help families resume daily life. With floodwaters now receding, officials have launched a comprehensive assessment of damages, ensuring that compensation reaches families without delay. The Revenue Department has initiated the re-issuance of vital documents, including ration cards, Kisan Credit Cards, and bank passbooks, enabling families to access government schemes and financial aid.
In Mandar village of Lohandiguda tehsil, flood-hit farmers have begun receiving new Kisan Kitabs, which were washed away in the disaster. These documents are crucial for availing agricultural schemes and future assistance. Simultaneously, district teams are conducting door-to-door surveys to record losses of homes, crops, livestock, and household items. Immediate relief amounts are being directly credited into the bank accounts of affected families to ensure transparency and timeliness.
Collector-level monitoring and the active involvement of the Revenue and Disaster Management Department have reassured people that no family will be left behind. Authorities stressed that maintaining transparency in the compensation process is a top priority so that every deserving household receives support.
Gratitude from flood-hit residents reflects the impact of the government’s efforts. Murha Patel, a resident of one of the affected villages, said, “We thought everything was lost in the flood, but this quick help from the government has given us hope to rebuild our lives.”
The administration’s proactive measures—ranging from immediate relief distribution to long-term rehabilitation—highlight a sensitive and humane approach under CM Sai’s leadership. Beyond addressing immediate needs, these steps are aimed at restoring normalcy, supporting livelihoods, and providing a sense of security for the future. For thousands of families devastated by the floods, this comprehensive relief effort has become a symbol of resilience and reassurance.
