Six Tractors Seized in Crackdown on Illegal Mineral Transport Following CM Helpline Complaint

Special drive in Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi targets illegal sand and stone transportation; administration vows strict action to protect natural resources and government revenue

TFP Bureau, Raipur, July 15,2026: The Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi district administration has seized six tractors involved in the illegal transportation of sand and stone aggregate following a complaint received through the CM Helpline, highlighting the state’s continued focus on prompt grievance redressal and action against illegal mining.

The operation was carried out by the District Mining Department on the directions of Collector Vijay Dayaram K. after a complaint was registered on the CM Helpline (1076). The Collector ordered an immediate inquiry and directed officials to take strict action against those involved in illegal mineral transportation.

Acting on the instructions, the district mining flying squad conducted a special enforcement drive across several locations. During the operation, three tractors carrying illegally mined sand were intercepted in the Kolbirra and Rumga areas, two more sand-laden tractors were seized in Khanta and Pipariya, while another tractor transporting stone aggregate without authorization was caught in the Sadhwani area. All six vehicles were seized on the spot and legal proceedings were initiated.

Officials said cases have been registered against the vehicle owners under the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act. The seized vehicles will be released only after the prescribed penalties and compounding charges are deposited as per the provisions of the law.

Collector Vijay Dayaram K. directed officials to ensure transparent, time-bound and effective disposal of every complaint received through the CM Helpline. He also instructed the Mining Department to continue its drive against illegal extraction and transportation of minerals to safeguard natural resources and protect government revenue.

The district administration said surveillance against illegal mining activities has been intensified and appealed to citizens to report any information related to unauthorized mining or transportation through the CM Helpline or the concerned department to facilitate prompt action.

The enforcement drive was carried out with the participation of Assistant Mining Officer Aditya Mankar, Mining Inspector Sujit Kanwar, Mining Constable Shivkumar Lahre and Home Guard personnel Satish Sahu.
