Temporary Suspension of Civil Flight Operations at 32 Airports and Air Routes

TFP Bureau, New Delhi, May 10, 2025: The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has announced the temporary suspension of civil flight operations at 32 airports across northern and western India, effective from May 9 to May 14, 2025. This decision, made in coordination with relevant aviation authorities, is due to operational reasons and will impact air traffic across multiple states.

The affected airports include key hubs such as Amritsar, Jammu, Chandigarh, and Leh, as well as smaller regional airports such as Bhuj, Bathinda, and Keshod. These suspensions will last until 0529 IST on May 15, 2025, as per the Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) issued by the authorities.

  • Amritsar

  • Awantipur

  • Bathinda

  • Bhuj

  • Bikaner

  • Chandigarh

  • Halwara

  • Hindon

  • Jaisalmer

  • Jammu

  • Jamnagar

  • Jodhpur

  • Kandla

  • Kangra (Gaggal)

  • Keshod

  • Kishangarh

  • Kullu Manali (Bhuntar)

  • Leh

  • Ludhiana

  • Mundra

  • Naliya

  • Pathankot

  • Patiala

  • Porbandar

  • Rajkot (Hirasar)

  • Sarsawa

  • Shimla

  • Srinagar

  • Thoise

  • Uttarlai

Additionally, 25 segments of Air Traffic Service (ATS) routes within the Delhi and Mumbai Flight Information Regions (FIRs) will also be temporarily closed. These routes will remain unavailable until 2359 UTC on May 14, 2025.

Airlines and flight operators have been advised to adjust their flight paths and schedules according to the updated air traffic advisories. The temporary closures are being managed in collaboration with Air Traffic Control (ATC) units to ensure air safety and minimize disruptions during this period.
