TFP Bureau, Raipur, July 29, 2025: The Chhattisgarh government has initiated an inquiry following multiple complaints regarding the selection process of Vocational Trainers (VTs) under the state’s school education department. The issue came to light after 10 formal complaints were received on July 28, 2025, alongside a memorandum submitted earlier on July 25 by the NSUI and the Chhattisgarh Nursing Federation.
The selection process had begun on June 12, 2025, with online tender invitations under Category Bids through a third-party agency, TSEPOTEL. Six agencies emerged as L1 bidders and were assigned vocational schools through a splitting mechanism on July 11. Instructions were issued to these agencies to place the selected trainers in the schools by July 21, 2025, with a finalized list made public on July 23.
Out of 1,507 targeted schools, trainers were appointed in 1,281 institutions, and 844 VTs officially joined their posts. However, subsequent objections prompted the education department to direct District Education Officers (DEOs) on July 22 to withhold further placements until clarification.
In light of the complaints, the government on July 28 constituted a probe committee which is expected to submit its report within two days. As per the current status, no formal complaints have yet been submitted by any selected vocational trainers, but legal scrutiny remains a possibility.
Meanwhile, an official assurance was given that the selection process will be carried out with complete transparency. If irregularities are confirmed, corrective legal action will follow. However, any disruption in the placement process could impact over 1.62 lakh students enrolled in 652 government schools and 41 PM SHRI schools currently running vocational education programs.
Authorities have confirmed that affidavits have been taken from the six selected agencies ensuring that no trainers will be accepted from unapproved channels, and all appointed VTs remain subject to judicial review if required.
