TFP Bureau, Raipur, April 17, 2025: In a move aimed at enhancing ease of doing business, the Chhattisgarh government has launched a fully online system for obtaining temporary electricity connections. Implemented via the State Single Window Portal, the initiative promises to eliminate cumbersome paperwork, reduce processing time, and bring greater transparency to the application process—earning praise from the state’s business community.
With the new system in place, entrepreneurs can now apply for temporary electricity connections from the comfort of their homes and track application status in real time. This shift from a manual to a digital process marks a significant departure from the earlier model, which required multiple office visits and extensive paperwork.
Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai said, “Our government is committed to making Chhattisgarh a business-friendly state. By digitizing the process of obtaining temporary electricity connections, we have taken a big step towards ease of doing business. This initiative will not only save time and money for entrepreneurs but also attract more investment and create new employment opportunities.”
The automated platform ensures regulatory compliance, reduces the risk of errors, and simplifies the audit trail through digital record-keeping. This has resulted in a significant reduction in administrative burden and operational delays, especially for small and medium enterprises.
Harish Patel, a young entrepreneur from Raipur, shared his experience: “Earlier it used to take several weeks and multiple visits to get a temporary electricity connection. Now, it’s done within a few days. The government’s effort is truly commendable.”
Officials have confirmed that similar digital reforms are being planned for other government services as well. The government sees this as a foundational step toward a more transparent and investment-friendly ecosystem in Chhattisgarh.
